Timekeeping FAQs for TE&Y - Submitting a Claim for Training
Question of the Month
LR Connection will be posting a monthly question with the Timekeeping department to provide information regarding Ops and Non-Ops employees' pay. Employees can go to the Timekeeping page for more FAQs or resources. This month's question being highlighted deals with a TE&Y topic.
Q: Is it necessary to submit a claim for pay after attending classroom training, or company business events?
A: Yes, when someone is off for these type scenarios, a claim must be submitted if the person is entitled to compensation under the collective bargaining agreement. Even though they are put on duty, and perform a tie-up, CMTS does not generate pay from the classroom/company business style tie-ups like it does for a working trip tie-up. A reminder to submit a non-service claim is displayed after a classroom tie-up is successfully performed.
