Guidelines Outline Mechanical Department Foreman-in-Training Selection Process
Labor Relations has received a number of inquiries concerning the application and selection process for Foreman-in-Training (FIT) positions. In order to help employees understand the selection process, the Mechanical Department has posted FIT selection guidelines on its Web site. The guidelines provide information about how FIT positions are filled including the application process, interview, and what factors lead to a candidate being awarded a position. The selection guidelines are designed to ensure that selected employees have the knowledge, skills (e.g. computer, supervisory, leadership, communication, etc.), abilities and experience necessary to eventually be an effective Foreman.
Foreman-in-Training position are posted on the Union Pacific Jobs website. Please go there to check for any available opportunities to apply.
Visit Mechanical Department FIT Selection Process Guidelines to learn more information.
NOTE: The FIT selection process may be changed at management’s discretion and is not part of any Collective Bargaining Agreement.
